Quietly resisting the rush

Hope you've seen them around ~ places on the web so peaceful, thoughtful, and wonderful. Such warm and welcoming little corners they are.
This one goes out to all those deep thinkers + brilliant makers who create these personal, inviting, exciting, joyful, interactive, imaginative, experimental, handcrafted projects that make up the ever-expanding universe of soft tech and poetic web.
Thank you for your brilliance 🌟

A word of wisdom
"When I can't decide what to do, or where to go, or how to go, I need you to remind me to think more like you. And remind me that life is elastic, that I am elastic." Queenie Wu thinks to herself as she walks down 28th Street. "Is crossing the street as brave as crossing the country?" She wonders on her way home. "It's scary to be hypnotized by the illusion of choice."
👆 These snippets of thoughts have caught my eye within the paths, sounds, and inner monologues collected by Queenie Wu for The HTML Review.

A sense of play
Adding a new selfie to the world?
Make it an alt text selfie this time. No image, just a written self-portrait description.
It doesn't have to literally describe an image ~ simply use evocative language to paint a picture in a reader's mind. Everyone will see you differently, and that's the beauty of it 😊
Perhaps you'd like to send a love note to someone ~ a lover, a friend, a stranger? Share a piece of advice, express a concern, or say thank you? Even a single word would suffice.
You can do it here → noteson.love
Or, you could just read through the ephemeral glimpses of someone else's love ~ as they appear/disappear on the screen ~ and find your truth inside.
Feel like writing a short story?
Try doing it in pairs. Switch-Lit is a platform for collaborative storytelling, where two writers take turns writing chapters.
To participate, you can 1) invite your writing partner via email and customize your story set; or 2) get matched with an unknown partner, and get to know them as you write. Either way, you'll nurture creative partnerships and spark collective imagination 💖

A thing of beauty
Want to see the world through someone else's eyes? Visit WindowSwap, open a window somewhere in the world, and enjoy the view. You can share yours, too!
And if you'd prefer to sit back and watch a compilation of views, then Jitaku: WindowSwap is for you 👇 Directed by Uttara Krishnadas, this video features 50 window views from 30 countries.

As Queenie has reminded us above ~ life is elastic, just like we are 💫 Keep that in mind and go with the slow. Dive deep, look far, and think wide. Find your ways to [quietly] resist the rush.
